A Summer Stay at Wilderness Lodge

Sharing is caring!

One of my favorite things about Walt Disney World is that there is a resort for everyone! If you love the great outdoors, than Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is for you!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort that is nestled in the woods on Bay Lake. It’s vicinity to Magic Kingdom makes this resort one of a kind. This resort is inspired by some of the Great American National Parks. Its massive lobby sets it a part from some of the other Deluxe Resorts. There are rocking chairs set up in front of the massive 82 foot tall fireplace for guests to enjoy. Located in the lobby, is The Whispering Canyon Cafe, a sit-down restaurant. Try asking for ketchup on your next visit! A hot spring begins in the lobby and flows outside into the courtyard, that makes for a perfect picture. Also located in the lobby, is the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, where you can pick up your favorite Wilderness Lodge souvenirs including pins, shirts, photo frames and home decor. Guests can also purchase snacks, toys, home decor, apparel and other necessities. It’s definitely a “unique” store!

The Wilderness Lodge has two swimming pools. The Main Pool, The Silver Creek Springs Pool is located in the main courtyard and has a water slide surrounded by rock. A kids’ water play area, and a hot tub finish off the main pool area. Visit The Trout Bass Pool Bar for your favorite cocktail, which is right behind the main pool. There is a quiet pool located near The Wilderness Lodge Villas called The Hidden Springs Pool. Towels are available for guest use at both swimming pool areas. Guests can rent surrey bikes, bikes, and boats at the resort. In the evenings, guests can view a movie on the beach underneath the stars. The Electrical Water Pageant, and Wishes (fireworks from The Magic Kingdom) are viewable from The Wilderness Lodge beach.

The Wilderness Lodge has many restaurants for guests to enjoy. Artist Point is a signature restaurant that offers views of the main courtyard and cuisine inspired by The Pacific Northwest. This restaurant requires guests to follow a dress code. When I ate there in July, I had The Buffalo Strip Loin with macaroni and cheese. It tasted amazing! Here is a link to the menu at Artist Point. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a table service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The servers at this restaurant are known for their banter and games with guests! Another restaurant at The Wilderness Lodge is The Roaring Fork, which is the quick service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. This location is open until 11pm, so on your way back to your room from the parks, you can stop to get a late night snack! Don’t feel like leaving your room? The Wilderness Lodge offers In Room Dining for you to enjoy. Guests can order breakfast, and dinner from the menu.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has several resort room categories: Standard View, Woods View, Woods View with Bunk Beds, Courtyard View, Courtyard View with Bunk Beds. There are also concierge level rooms. The guest rooms have very unique “rustic” features.

There is nothing like arriving to The Magic Kingdom via watercraft. A boat can also take you to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney busses can take you to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

Overall, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a great place to stay, whether it’s a family vacation, or a romantic getaway! Check out this Resort Guide from The Mouse For Less! Wilderness Lodge Resort Guide
