Our Guide Jordan

The Magic Kingdom tour guide will share many facts & stories about Walt Disney’s upbringing in Marceline, Missouri along with little known info about the design and operation of classic attractions, including those inspired by Walt’s participation in the 1964 World’s Fair.

Our group, visiting during the busy holiday season, had a few extra story tidbits that pertained to holiday decorations. While this part was a quick add-on, basic tour inclusions only vary slightly from one tour to the next.

A couple quick stops on Main Street included a few short stories behind the holiday décor of the area and how Main Street sets the stage for the park’s iconic spoke & wheel design.

Then on to the Haunted Mansion for a complete walkthrough of the que area with explanations of the tongue-in-cheek jokes behind some of the statues and gravestones.

So who killed who?

After the tour of the line, we rode the ride and then came the “behind the scenes” tour of the Haunted Mansion ride.  I will not give away any secrets, you need to do the tour and experience the special effect secrets for yourself!

After the Haunted Mansion, our next stop was a quick stop at It’s a Small World and the Winnie the Pooh rides.  While we did not get to ride these on our tour, probably because of the busy holiday season, I have heard that many times the Winnie the Pooh ride is also included as part of the tour.

Next, we were off to Carousel of Progress!  We were led into the ride by an alternative entrance and have an entire theater to ourselves.  Through the different scenes, our guide talked via the headsets to tell us how the scenes have changed over the years.  There is even one familiar face in the show you may recognize from the Haunted Mansion!

Our tour ended with interesting information and again, a few behind the scenes gags, that are hidden in the castle mosaic.
