Review: I\u2019ve always been a fan of Hyatt, but when traveling with the kids having a bit more space is very appealing. I was excited to try their new brand, Hyatt Place, which offers hotels with spacious rooms well suited to either families or business travelers. Hyatt Place offers fewer on-site amenities than a Hyatt Regency \u2013 there are no full service table dining locations, and there is no Regency Club level, for example, but eliminating these types of services within the hotel also keeps the price down, so I think this is going to be a wonderful new option for families.<\/p>\n

The hotel is very attractive on the inside. This was an existing property they\u2019ve renovated and it\u2019s very inviting from the moment you walk in. The room was in good condition with modern styling. The rooms have traditional Hyatt bedding (a king or two doubles) and a corner oversized sleeper sofa in a somewhat separated area. There is a 42\u201d flat screen TV that can be viewed from either the bed area or the sofa\/sleeper side. There\u2019s a small table and chairs and desk, and a kitchenette with a coffeemaker and small refrigerator. The sink and vanity area were right across from the beds, with the toilet and tub being right off that area. The room itself was very spacious with plenty of room to move around, however, the bathroom was tiny. There was just enough clearance between the door and the toilet, and not much space to stand in to dress once you were out of the shower.<\/p>\n

There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, but if you haven\u2019t brought your laptop that\u2019s not a problem \u2013 off the lobby is a nook with two computers and a printer for guest use. Also off the lobby is the \u201cGuest Kitchen\u201d where a free continental breakfast is served each morning. The typical fare includes yogurt, fruit, cold cereals, instant oatmeal, and bagels, bread, and the like. There\u2019s milk, juices and of course, coffee. You also have the option of purchasing hot breakfast entrees. In fact, there is a touch screen via which you can order entrees, sandwiches, and more 24 hours a day. Right along the front desk there is a case with tempting pastries and other items as well available at any time hunger strikes.<\/p>\n

There is an outdoor pool and a fitness center. Parking is complimentary.<\/p>\n

\u00b0o\u00b0 Magic for Less Travel Tips: This Hyatt Place is about a quarter mile from Universal, so it\u2019s possible to walk there. A taxi to or from won\u2019t set you back much, so if you do walk over and are tired on the way back, consider hopping in a taxi.<\/p>\n
