Walt Disney World Interview with a Guest of The Magic For Less Travel<\/p>\n

Our clients at The Magic For Less Travel are so valued and important to us that in true Disney fashion we refer to them as our guests.\u00a0 \u00a0Often our guests become our friends and extended family as we build relationships with them over the years and live vicariously through their Disney Destination vacations.<\/p>\n

Sometimes our guests\u2019 children grow up and begin to travel themselves with their own families!\u00a0 We love our guests and we truly take their vacations seriously \u2013 as much as we do our own and maybe even a little more.<\/p>\n

So who better to talk about Disney Destination travel than our very own guests of The Magic For Less Travel?! \u00a0I decided to do a Disney World Guest Interview with one of my long time guests. \u00a0 This is a first in a series of interviews I conducted with my personal guests who regularly travel to Disney Destinations.\u00a0 Watch for future interviews with guests who regularly travel with other Disney Destinations!<\/p>\n

Let’s talk with Tim Sauda from Hamburg, New York about his Walt Disney World experiences!<\/p>\n

Tell me about your first Walt Disney World Resort trip \u2013 what hooked you?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first trip to Walt Disney World was as a kid when I was 10 in the early 1980s \u2013 just a week after Epcot opened in 1982.\u00a0 Things were so much different then and my family actually stayed offsite for that very trip.\u00a0 We spent time at Epcot and Magic Kingdom, and I can\u2019t say for sure what hooked me specifically then, but we had so much fun as a family like never before.\u00a0 Epcot wasn\u2019t operating at full capacity.\u00a0 There were a lot of attraction breakdowns, but everything was so still magical and I absolutely loved the majesty of Magic Kingdom<\/p>\n

We took a return trip 3 years later and took my grandmother with us.\u00a0 We stayed at the same hotel \u2013 a Days Inn.\u00a0 I can\u2019t imagine staying offsite now!\u00a0 I was hooked by then.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t go back until after college and my parents wanted to take my sister who was in High School at the time.\u00a0 I had to go too!\u00a0 So, I chimed in and asked to go with them and we stayed at the Polynesian in 1996.\u00a0 The castle was decorated like a birthday cake that year for Walt Disney World\u2019s 25th<\/sup> birthday!<\/p>\n

My first trip with my family unit with my daughters \u2013 they were 5 and 3 \u2013 was the first time that I used The Magic For Less Travel.\u00a0 \u00a0I remember going in May and I had booked the trip 9 months in advance.\u00a0 \u00a0I wasn\u2019t going along for the ride this time so I needed and wanted assistance of an expert.\u00a0 I loved every minute of it \u2013 part of the fun is planning.\u00a0 We stayed at the Polynesian that year and brought my parents along for the week.\u00a0\u00a0 It was so magical watching it through my children this time.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve now been back 5 times with the kids and 1 additional time just as a couple for our 15th<\/sup> wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

What keeps you going back?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

A few things come to mind.\u00a0 My kids absolutely adore the destination.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s the one place that no matter their age they\u2019ve asked to go back time and time again.\u00a0 They are always so excited.\u00a0 I tell referrals that it\u2019s the one vacation place that everyone can go and be happy and have fun because there is something for everyone!\u00a0 \u00a0It\u2019s been a different kind of fun as my children have gotten older so it\u2019s always new to us.\u00a0 We love the service.\u00a0 Restaurants are underrated \u2013 they have fantastic restaurants that you can\u2019t go to in your everyday life.\u00a0 Disney also continues to add attractions and new lands.\u00a0 The magic is always there!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Walt Disney World Resort memory?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is so hard because there are so many memories with my family and children, but some of the things that stand out include how excited the kids were meeting the characters for the very first time, experiencing the attractions for the first time and seeing their expression and having them talk about it after we got home even.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been fortunate that some unique things that have happened that are all part of the Disney magic.\u00a0 During the Year of Million Dreams we were tapped by a Cast Member on the shoulder and we were awarded a private ride on Dinosaur \u2013 the entire ride vehicle to ourselves.<\/p>\n

Also, we were staying at the Grand Floridian on one visit and while getting off of Disney\u2019s Magical Express, a Cast Member greeted us by name and asked us if we\u2019d like to be escorted to a suite upgrade.\u00a0 We were suddenly whisked away to a 2 bedroom suite!\u00a0 We\u2019ve had some great meals and I think we\u2019ve tried all of the different restaurants \u2013 always a highlight and a great memory.<\/p>\n

\"Disney<\/p>\n

What is your favorite activity that you always do\/tradition at Walt Disney World?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

On every trip we\u2019ve taken we\u2019ve done dinner Chef Mickey\u2019s.\u00a0 We know that we\u2019ve arrived when we\u2019re meeting up with the Fab 5.\u00a0 It\u2019s always the 1st<\/sup> or maybe 2nd<\/sup> night of our trips.<\/p>\n

\"Disney<\/p>\n

How do you define Disney Magic?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

It can be so many things!\u00a0 Literal, tangible things and maybe things that are just more like how you experience or take it all in.\u00a0 Magical upgrades for instance are a good example.\u00a0 At Space Mountain one night there was a Cast Member waiting at the exit.\u00a0 He said\u00a0 \u201cWould you like to ride again?\u201d, and he escorted us to the front of the line for a repeat ride!<\/p>\n

Engaging with a waiter at dinner and at the end he gave us a FastPass to use that night on any attraction defines Disney Magic.<\/p>\n

And then a show like Wishes (now retired).\u00a0 That\u2019s Disney at its very best \u2013 the music, how it evokes emotion and how it makes you feel.\u00a0 Magic is the expression you see on your child\u2019s face when they experience a ride or meet a beloved character.<\/p>\n

And magic is watching my daughter perform in her high school band and marching down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom.\u00a0 Seeing her walk down Main Street with a huge smile on her face performing in her favorite place in the world was amazing.\u00a0 Our other daughter will do this in a few years and we can\u2019t wait!<\/p>\n

What are you looking forward to most on your next trip?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pandora, Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land \u2013 there is so many new things coming online at Walt Disney World over the next few years that make me want to go back!\u00a0 I\u2019m also looking forward to a future adults only trip as well with other couples \u2013 it\u2019s totally different than just doing it with kids.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Walt Disney World Resort?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Our favorite is the Polynesian Resort. \u00a0\u00a0A few reasons \u2013 it\u2019s the first Walt Disney World resort that I stayed in.\u00a0 It\u2019s classic Disney, one of the original resorts.\u00a0 It\u2019s got the Disney flair even still today!\u00a0 You really are immersed in the theme, and the convenience to the Magic Kingdom and even to Epcot is fantastic.\u00a0 Great amenities and it is the only resort that we\u2019ve repeated (we\u2019ll repeat it again!).\u00a0 And just some of the little things stand out \u2013 the first year we went with our children and just seeing the monorail for the first time. \u00a0My parents and I rode it around the Magic Kingdom loop on our first night just to feel the magic of Disney before our touring started the next day while my wife put the kids down.\u00a0 We were too excited to sleep!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Walt Disney World Resort attraction?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s so hard to pick just one!\u00a0 I think for me my favorite attraction is Space Mountain.\u00a0 It\u2019s been at Walt Disney World forever and as a kid I remember having that fun fear factor and seeing it for the first time.\u00a0 It was a roller coaster in the dark and that was a bit scary!\u00a0 It\u2019s held up through the years very well.\u00a0 I can\u2019t tell you how many times I\u2019ve ridden it \u2013 over 100?\u00a0 It\u2019s fun every single time.\u00a0 The music even evokes magic for me as you walk through the queue.\u00a0 It\u2019s like going back to my childhood.\u00a0 My kids love it as well and it\u2019s a great experience for our family.\u00a0 It has great theming.\u00a0 I think if you ask the novice Disney traveler about an attraction at Disney that Space Mountain will come up.\u00a0 Attractions like Soarin\u2019 are amazing, but Space Mountain just always does it for me.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Walt Disney World Resort Restaurant?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Victoria and Alberts was amazing when we celebrated our 15th<\/sup> wedding anniversary.\u00a0 A truly magical experience of service and quality. \u00a0\u00a0I have to say it is my favorite.<\/p>\n

But with the kids I might say Chef Mickey\u2019s \u2013 there is always anticipation of waiting for the characters and a great buffet.\u00a0 My daughter was afraid of the characters on our very first visit but she began to let go and it\u2019s been a tradition ever since.\u00a0 It always stands out for me.\u00a0 And when my daughters were smaller the experience of them dressing up at Cinderella\u2019s Royal Table was amazing. \u00a0I loved watching them light up feeling as if they were Disney Princesses themselves!<\/p>\n

What has been your favorite character interaction(s)?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first time we went to Chef Mickey\u2019s with my kids, my parents were with us.\u00a0 Goofy came over to greet the kids and he used my dad\u2019s head to hold the autograph book as he signed it.\u00a0 The photos are priceless of my dad smiling and the kids laughing!<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t see the Beast very often and the first Be Our Guest dining experience was great as we got to meet him after dinner.\u00a0 It was the perfect end to a fantastic meal.\u00a0 He\u2019s enormous and seeing him putting his hand out to us to greet us and having our photo taken with him is a great memory.<\/p>\n

And at Akershus my daughter was in the parade with Snow White holding her hand.\u00a0 That was priceless.<\/p>\n

\"Disney<\/p>\n

Why do you use The Magic For Less Travel?\u00a0 What\u2019s the benefit?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

You make it ridiculously easy for us to take care of everything.\u00a0 I can do all of this myself, but I never would.\u00a0 You are always there and when things that come up you take care of them \u2013 promotions, requests, knowledge of the restaurants and attractions, endless tips and advice.\u00a0 Why wouldn\u2019t you use The Magic For Less Travel?\u00a0 It\u2019s free!\u00a0 And it\u2019s like having your own personal concierge whenever you need them.\u00a0 \u00a0Why deal with all of the things you have to when someone will do this for you as a resource?<\/p>\n

And of course there are nice perks like gift cards and vacation package booking gifts.\u00a0 Those are just icing on the cake, though. You are responsive \u2013 just a phone call, email, or text away from answering a question.\u00a0 And Disney guests will have a million questions.<\/p>\n

I love that I\u2019ve built a relationship with you. \u00a0You give me peace of mind that my trip is going to be well managed and go off without a hitch.<\/p>\n

What is your best advice for a new Walt Disney World Resort traveler?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Plan, plan, plan!\u00a0 There is too much going on to just show up without any planning \u2013 that is why you need to use The Magic For Less Travel!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an expensive trip.\u00a0 It is an investment, so plan and use your agent to help, but also do a little bit of research on your own as well.\u00a0 When you\u2019re going to the parks get there at rope drop and you\u2019ll be amazed how much you can do the first few hours the park is open.<\/p>\n

Take time to smell the roses and relax a bit too.\u00a0 Enjoy the pool at your resort.\u00a0 You can\u2019t spend 12 -14 hours at the park every day or you\u2019ll come home needing another vacation.\u00a0 Build time into your plans to relax.<\/p>\n

Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort \u2013 there are so many options.\u00a0 Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours.\u00a0 Take breaks to recharge and go back to the parks in the evenings.\u00a0 Take time to experience the restaurants, too!\u00a0 Not just character meals but other sit down venues as well \u2013 there are so many good choices.<\/p>\n

Who is your favorite Disney character? <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mickey Mouse, don\u2019t have to think twice.\u00a0 As a young adult when I went with my parents to Walt Disney World I found a poster in one of the stores of Walt that said \u201cRemember it all started with a Mouse\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0I fell in love with it.\u00a0 It may be clich\u00e9 but it\u2019s not even close.\u00a0 Mickey is Disney.<\/p>\n

Do you have any other comments about Walt Disney World?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of the classic attractions are vintage Disney and makes me think of Disney magic.\u00a0 Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion.\u00a0 There may be other attractions that have come along that are more advanced, but these remind me more of the simpler things of life.\u00a0 I can go and disconnect from the reality of life every time I experience them.<\/p>\n

He is also certified with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and has sailed dozens of times on RCCL as well as other cruise lines.
