How long have you been a Travel Consultant?\u00a0<\/strong> 2 \u00bd years\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why did you want to be a travel agent specializing in Disney and Universal Destinations?<\/strong> I have wanted to have a career with the Disney company my entire life.\u00a0 The role has changed \u2013 entertainer in the parades, monorail pilot, animator, attorney, and so on \u2013 but I could never quite decide on something long enough as I wanted something that touched all of Disney.\u00a0 I\u2019m using the term \u201cDisney\u201d loosely here but I\u2019ve always loved the parks.\u00a0 Visiting Walt Disney World<\/a> throughout my lifetime and getting to share my knowledge of the parks was always the highlight of any day for me.\u00a0 When I found the Disney community several years ago \u2013 and realized there were thousands of mega-fans out there, I thought a lot about becoming a Travel Agent who specializes in Disney.\u00a0 I truly believe to specialize in such a unique destination, that is always growing, you must have a true love of it.\u00a0 I love everything about the Disney parks \u2013 the resorts, the attractions, the dining, the entertainment, the transportation, the sounds, and even the smells.\u00a0 To find a position where you must continuously learn and explore all of this and share it with others so that they can have a vacation as memorable as any you\u2019ve ever had-\u00a0 that was a dream come true!\u00a0 I love soaking up information on Disney parks whether it be through podcasts, blogs, books, or webinars.\u00a0 To find a way to do something you love is everything \u2013 it makes what I do not feel like work!\u00a0 While Universal<\/a> is viewed as an obvious competitor, I think it\u2019s great that there\u2019s another major player in the theme park industry just down the street, it keeps Disney on its toes!\u00a0 I\u2019ve visited the Universal Orlando Resort since it first opened \u2013 in fact my favorite attraction there is not now extinct, The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera!\u00a0 Universal is different than Disney (no kidding you say!), but is own unique in its own way and the addition of Harry Potter World makes it an obvious choice for guests visiting Orlando.<\/p>\n

Share one Disney vacation tip.\u00a0<\/strong> Be informed.\u00a0 There are so many variables you can control about your vacation, and even more that you can\u2019t, but being educated about your options is an absolute must!\u00a0 Knowing where to go when the rain starts, knowing where to eat when your child insists on mac & cheese, knowing where to go when you need first aid, knowing where to get ice cream or a cold drink because it\u2019s 100\u00b0, knowing what attractions are air conditioned because it\u2019s still 100\u00b0, knowing how to get to the Contemporary for your dining reservation when you\u2019re at Animal Kingdom \u2013 everything you can learn and know before you travel, will only make your trip that go that much smoother.<\/p>\n

Share one Universal Orlando vacation<\/strong> tip.\u00a0 <\/strong>Consider staying onsite at one of the resorts that offer the Unlimited Express Pass option<\/a>.\u00a0 The Universal Orlando resorts are amazing!\u00a0 While they all have their own draw, the three with the Unlimited Express Pass option can really save you so much time.\u00a0 And when you\u2019re on vacation, time is money.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Disney Resort?\u00a0 <\/strong>The Beach Club<\/a> is my absolute favorite resort.\u00a0 I love many others \u2013 like really love them, but the Beach Club, or more specifically the Beach Club Villas<\/a>, just really holds a special place in my heart.\u00a0 For me and my family, our resort has always played more of a role in our vacation than a place to sleep and shower.\u00a0 It\u2019s that feeling of being in a home away from home, being greeted by people who remember you (Captains Matt & Monty Ray always welcome us back like they\u2019ve truly missed us!) and being a bit pampered if you will.\u00a0 I love being comfortable yet detached from my own home where laundry and other chores call to me.\u00a0 I love how the resort plays to all my senses.\u00a0 Sight \u2013 it\u2019s gorgeous and beachy and reminds of us our coastal town at home and how can you not love the sight of the Boardwalk across the lagoon.\u00a0 Smell \u2013 the deluxe resorts all infuse the same scent, but then because of its surroundings, each takes on a slight difference. Touch \u2013 \u00a0the beds are some of the most comfortable we\u2019ve slept in, but there are so many comfortable areas to lounge and enjoy.\u00a0 Sound \u2013hearing the voices of familiar Cast Members or the background loops played, or even the splashing and laughing at Stromalong Bay<\/a>, how can you not smile?\u00a0 And taste \u2013 some of our favorite dining is right at the Beach Club \u2013 Cape May Caf\u00e9<\/a> is a favorite breakfast spot!\u00a0\u00a0 And last but not least, we simply adore Epcot<\/a> and it\u2019s our favorite park so being able to be in our room, and in under 10 minutes be inside a pavilion in the World Showcase \u2013 jackpot!<\/p>\n

\"Beach<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Disney restaurant?\u00a0 <\/strong>I\u2019m going to break my answer into categories because to be limited to a single location for this question just doesn\u2019t do it justice.\u00a0 Dining in Disney is one of the best parts or a visit!\u00a0 My favorite signature dining is Narcoossee\u2019s<\/a> at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.\u00a0 The food is absolutely delicious and the views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon just as amazing!\u00a0 You have to try the almond encrusted cheesecake for dessert \u2013 and I\u2019m not even a fan of cheesecake!\u00a0 My favorite table service dining location is hard to pick but I am a huge fan of \u2018Ohana<\/a> at the Polynesian Village Resort.\u00a0 I love any meal there!\u00a0 If you know me at all, you know that my entire family\u2019s favorite quick-service dining location is Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie<\/a> in the France pavilion in Epcot.\u00a0 They offer the same menu from morning to night and there is something there that you\u2019ll love for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every snack in between!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Disney snack?\u00a0 <\/strong>Another really hard one!!\u00a0 I used to have an absolute-must-have, but it was \u201cretired\u201d from the Confectionary about 7 or 8 years ago.\u00a0 It was a giant Oreo (yes legit Oreo cr\u00e8me, not a generic) that was dipped in chocolate.\u00a0 Oh my heaven!!\u00a0 Now, snack options are not lacking but I love so many and try to enjoy them all.\u00a0 If I had to pick anything to have right now, it would be a chocolate caramel dipped character apple.\u00a0 Be sure to have them slice it for you for easier eating wherever you pick one up!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Disney attraction?\u00a0 <\/strong>I love the Peoplemover<\/a>.\u00a0 While its name has changed over the years, my love for this attraction hasn\u2019t, and if I visited the Magic Kingdom<\/a> and could only ride one attraction, it would be the Peoplemover.\u00a0 And I could ride it all day long.\u00a0 I never tire of this attraction and its sights & sounds.\u00a0 If I were to speak to a non-ride attraction (cheating again I know!), I would say my favorite is the Festival of the Lion King<\/a> show at Animal Kingdom<\/a>.\u00a0 I have yet to see this show and not get teary eyed.\u00a0 The power of the music and the emotion of the performers is unparalleled.\u00a0 It\u2019s 30 minutes of fun and a complete story is told in that time.\u00a0 Guests of all ages should experience both the Peoplemover and Festival of the Lion King!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Universal Orlando Resort?\u00a0 <\/strong>I\u2019m going to go with Loews Portofino Bay Hotel<\/a> because of the Italian atmosphere and feel of the resort!\u00a0 Having visited several European countries many years ago, I actually celebrated my 14th<\/sup> in Rome one summer!\u00a0 Besides Rome, we visited several cities in Italy and the entire country just captured my heart. \u00a0Portofino Bay transports you to Portofino, Italy and gives you that authentic feel of traveling much farther than you really are!\u00a0 Portofino Bay is also one of Universal\u2019s resort hotels that includes the Unlimited Express Pass with your stay.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Universal Orlando restaurant? <\/strong>Emeril\u2019s Orlando at Universal CityWalk<\/a> would probably be my choice.\u00a0 There are new additions to dining that I haven\u2019t tried but my last dinner at Emeril\u2019s was perfection!\u00a0 If you\u2019re wondering what I ate – the beef tenderloin followed by Emeril\u2019s Banana Cr\u00e8me Pie!<\/p>\n

What is your favorite Universal snack?\u00a0<\/strong> The new Cauldron Cake!\u00a0 I\u2019m a HUGE fan of cake of all kinds \u2013 and this revamped treat \u2013 chocolate cake with buttercream is right up my (Diagon) Alley! ?\u00a0 You can find these at Honeydukes\u00a0in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley.<\/p>\n

What makes Disneyland special? <\/strong>\u00a0I\u2019ve shared some of my favorites about Walt Disney World, but I love the Disneyland Resort<\/a> just as much!\u00a0 And before you ask – trying to compare the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World isn\u2019t entirely possible \u2013 they\u2019re two separate destinations and while both created by the same company, are very different. I say it\u2019s like trying to compare the Lion King and Mary Poppins movies.\u00a0 They\u2019re both phenomenal in their own ways and don\u2019t really lend themselves to be compared in a single category.\u00a0 \u00a0But Disneyland is so special because Walt\u2019s fingerprint is everywhere.\u00a0 Knowing that the man who built so much that impacts all of us daily, once walked there, spent time with his family there, had his own apartment there, there\u2019s a feeling that\u2019s indescribable to what any mega-Disney fan will feel.\u00a0 It\u2019s a combination of awe, connection, thankfulness, and amazement that you\u2019re in the same space that such a legend spent so much time!\u00a0 There\u2019s so much nostalgia at Disneyland even if you didn\u2019t grow up visiting the park.\u00a0 I think that so many stories have been shared be it through television, books, podcasts, etc. that we all feel some connection to Disneyland before ever visiting.\u00a0 The attractions and dining locations that are originals and still exist bring such comfort to guests.\u00a0 It\u2019s really a place that any Disney fan should make a priority to experience.\u00a0 There\u2019s so many experiences packed into those two west coast parks \u2013 Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure!\u00a0 I think any vacation destination can be special if you make memories with those you love- but I\u2019m definitely biased toward some more than others! ?<\/p>\n

What makes a Universal Orlando Resort vacation special?\u00a0 <\/strong>I think Universal is special and unique for a couple of reasons.\u00a0 One being the amount of thrill attractions that it offers.\u00a0 The thrill factor is definitely plentiful for those who enjoy a good adrenaline rush.\u00a0 Additionally, Harry Potter World<\/a> takes us to the locations we\u2019ve fallen in love with and right into the stories we love.\u00a0 It\u2019s like walking into a book – that\u2019s pretty powerful.<\/p>\n

Why should a guest work with you to plan their vacation?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> Because I truly love what I do and my goal is to help you plan the vacation that meets your needs.\u00a0 There are so many options and combinations of experiences a guest can have \u2013 but we all have different likes, preferences, and priorities.\u00a0 That\u2019s what makes the world interesting right?\u00a0 I love listening to guests to find out what they\u2019re hoping their next vacation will be and hold for them.\u00a0 I love making it work within a budget that they\u2019re comfortable with.\u00a0 I love hearing from them when they come back or seeing pictures they share with me knowing I was a part of the process that got them there.\u00a0 It\u2019s all about making memories and being a part of that with a guest is very special. I\u2019m extremely lucky to have the opportunity!<\/p>\n
