It\u2019s often said that there are so many options at Disney outside of the parks that I\u2019ve considered doing a Disney trip with that as the goal\u2014staying out of the parks.\u00a0 While I haven\u2019t done a complete trip, yet, with that mission, I did have the opportunity a couple of times this year to test it out.\u00a0 In February, we were there a Thursday through a Monday and went to the parks only 1 day.\u00a0 I was there again in April for 2 days and only did activities outside of the parks on that trip as well.\u00a0 So what are some options to consider?<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Starting with one of the obvious\u2014Disney Springs! Disney Springs has grown into such a shopping and entertainment mecca, that it can take up a good part of your day.\u00a0 From strolling in and around the shops, visiting one or two of the eateries, stopping to watch live performers in the area, to enjoying the evening at the lounges\u2014there is so much to do!\u00a0 Some of our favorite stops include Jock Lindsey\u2019s Hangar Bar<\/a>, the Coca-Cola Store<\/a> and\n

    rooftop beverage bar, Uniqlo<\/a>, and, of course, the World of Disney<\/a>.<\/li>\n

  2. Visiting other resorts. Some resorts lend themselves well to exploring the grounds and seeing the sites\u2014such as Animal Kingdom Lodge with safari animals roaming the savannas.\u00a0 Disney\u2019s Polynesian resort takes you away to a tropical paradise\u2014lounging in hammocks, walking along the beach, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.\u00a0 The resorts also have restaurants that provide that good-ole Disney feel to them.\u00a0 Sanaa at Animal\n

    Kingdom Lodge is a new-found favorite for us.\u00a0 While the menu may seem too eclectic for us picky eaters, the food is amazing\u2014give it a try!\u00a0 A couple of the resorts have character meals as well\u2014giving you the opportunity to see your pals and princesses outside of the parks.\u00a0 Some of these include Cape May Caf\u00e9 character breakfast at Disney\u2019s Beach Club Resort, Chef Mickey\u2019s at the Contemporary, \u2018Ohana breakfast at the Polynesian, and 1900 Park Fare breakfast or dinner at the Grand Floridian.\u00a0 Finally, enjoy the longest-running\"Hoop<\/p>\n

    dinner show, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue at Ft. Wilderness Campground.\u00a0 We went for the<\/p>\n

    first time on our April trip and we\u2019ll be returning on future trips for sure!<\/li>\n

  3. The BoardWalk area<\/a> at the BoardWalk Inn. This area offers up quite a bit in the afternoon and evening for people of all ages.\u00a0 From midway games to amazing how-do-they-do-that street performers, to restaurants, ice cream shops, bakeries, and shopping\u2014this is the place to be!\u00a0 One of the places we enjoyed during our trip was Jellyrolls\u2014a dueling piano bar.\u00a0 This will be a must-do on future trips!\u00a0 Guests 21 and over sit in amazement over the extremely talented pianists and join along in all the fun sing-a-longs!<\/li>\n
  4. Finally, if you\u2019re staying onsite, enjoy your resort\u2019s pool! Relax for the day\u2014walk around your resort and take in all the Disney details.\u00a0 Hang out at the pool and enjoy the offerings at the pool-side restaurants and bars.\u00a0 Strike up a conversation with a cast member and ask about their experiences with Disney.\u00a0 Most resorts offer night-time movies and activities at the pool as well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
