Your intentions are good. You\u2019ve been true to a healthy eating plan and you know that you can count points, skip carbs, cut desserts &#8212; whatever has been working so well for you for months to stay healthy. You\u2019re sure that you can easily order a Diet Coke by the pool instead of a Pina Colada. And those Mickey Ice Cream Bars? A bottle of water will surely cool you off just as well after a hot day in the parks, right?<\/p>\n<p>Sure. Maybe. But if it were that easy (and if this is what I usually ate for breakfast) I wouldn\u2019t be writing this blog.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15722\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15722\" style=\"width: 397px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15722\" title=\"Healthy breakfast at Satu'li\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Satuli-Healthy-Breakfast.jpg\" alt=\"Healthy breakfast option at Satu'li\" width=\"397\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Satuli-Healthy-Breakfast.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Satuli-Healthy-Breakfast-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15722\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8230; and so delicious!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For me, it\u2019s always difficult passing up good food, and on vacation, it\u2019s just that little bit more difficult. Any normal eating schedule\u00a0you might have at home just goes out the window, and you really do\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">work up an appetite with all that walking, swimming, and the occasional screaming as you plunge down Splash Mountain. To avoid the \u201cdieter\u2019s remorse\u201d when you get back home, here are a few tips to help you stay on track while still enjoying the best that Disney dining\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">has to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember that buffets are all-you-CARE-to eat, not all-you-CAN-eat. It\u2019s not a race to see how much you can devour in the least amount of time (although if you traveled with my\n<figure id=\"attachment_15714\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15714\" style=\"width: 248px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15714\" title=\"Breakfast skillet\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_3191.jpg\" alt=\"Breakfast skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe\" width=\"248\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_3191.jpg 477w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_3191-119x150.jpg 119w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_3191-437x550.jpg 437w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 248px) 100vw, 248px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15714\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>&#8220;Healthy&#8221; doesn&#8217;t mean giving up what you love!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>boys when they were teenagers, you\u2019d disagree). Eat slowly &#8212; eat sensibly &#8212; stop\u00a0when you\u2019re full. You don&#8217;t need to completely avoid that skillet on the right; just avoid eating the entire thing.<\/li>\n<li>Find Nemo! Fish and chicken are your friends, whether you\u2019re eating low-fat or low-carb. That tenderloin at the California Grill may be the most appetizing entr\u00e9e on the menu, but it doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s the best one for you.<\/li>\n<li>Go for the salads and veggies. I know this is an obvious tip, but by filling up on lettuce and broccoli instead of cheddar cheese soup, you\u2019ll eat less and eat healthier. Or at least start with the salad so there is less room for the ribs.<\/li>\n<li>Drink lots and lots of water! Not only will it perform the very important job of keeping you hydrated, but it will also help fill your stomach.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t wait until you\u2019re starving to eat! This is a surefire road to a dieting disaster. Keep\u00a0carrots, nuts, granola bars, or protein bars in your bag to help you stave off those lets-order-everything-on-the-menu attacks.<\/li>\n<li>Remember that along with the many healthy choices already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/walt-disney-world\/dining\/menus\/\">on the menu<\/a>, you can request that any entr\u00e9e be prepared to meet your dietary needs. Don\u2019t be shy to ask that something be added or removed.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t eat bread or pasta, telling your server when ordering will avoid the extra strain on your will power.<\/li>\n<li>You can still partake of desserts while on vacation. Sugar-free desserts or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/walt-disney-world\/dining\/menus\/artist-point-menu\/\">cheese plates<\/a> can satisfy those on low-carb diets, and fresh fruit is always a wonderful and sweet alternative for those who count points or calories.\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_15712\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15712\" style=\"width: 385px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15712\" title=\"Charcuterie Board\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/35026732_10156439398718454_1153943990291136512_n.jpg\" alt=\"Say cheese!\" width=\"385\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/35026732_10156439398718454_1153943990291136512_n.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/35026732_10156439398718454_1153943990291136512_n-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15712\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Charcuterie board at Artist Point<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"font-size: 14px;\">With the advent of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/walt-disney-world\/packages\/disney-dining-plan\/\">dining plan at Walt Disney World<\/a>, it\u2019s even more difficult to know when to stop. Six of us recently ate in Epcot and of course ordered six appetizers to complement our six entrees &#8212; and ate them all. Remember that you\u2019re not wasting your money by sharing an appetizer or dessert, or by not even ordering one. The dining plan is still a bargain, and you\u2019ll feel much better (trust me) if you don\u2019t consume this much food!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">While on vacation, lose what matters \u2013 lose your stress, lose yo<\/span>ur inhibitions, maybe lose a little bit of your money (those souvenirs are expensive!), and lose a little bit of yourself in your magical vacation. Lose all of that, but remember that your vacation doesn\u2019t have to be a time when you lose all reason, all of the time.\u00a0 A healthy and happier you will return!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It always starts out well.
