My biggest concern was the crowds.<\/p>\n<p>What my husband and I decided to do was go for Thanksgiving weekend, not do the parks and just enjoy the gorgeous resorts and see the decorations. It was truly magical.<\/p>\n<p>For Thanksgiving dinner, we splurged on Victoria and Albert&#8217;s at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/walt-disney-world\/resorts\/grand-floridian-resort-and-spa\/\">Disney&#8217;s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa<\/a>. We had been to Victoria and Albert&#8217;s before, but not for a holiday dinner. Of course it was incredible!<\/p>\n<p>The lobby of the Grand Floridian is always beautiful, but during the holidays it is especially enchanted. There is a life sized gingerbread house where you can purchase gingerbread cookies, and of course there is a very impressive Christmas tree.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15943\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15943\" style=\"width: 391px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15943\" title=\"Grand Floridian Christmas Tree\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Grand-Floridian-Christmas-Tree-391x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Grand-Floridian-Christmas-Tree-391x550.jpg 391w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Grand-Floridian-Christmas-Tree-107x150.jpg 107w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Grand-Floridian-Christmas-Tree.jpg 427w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 391px) 100vw, 391px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15943\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grand Floridian Christmas Tree<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since we had decided not to visit the parks because we felt they would be crowded, we bought tickets for Mickey&#8217;s Very Merry Christmas Party for the following evening. This way we could be part of the holiday magic and see the castle covered in &#8220;ice&#8221; at least one of our evenings. As only Disney magic can do, it snowed on us as we walked down Main Street after the Christmas parade! We drank hot chocolate and ate sugar cookies and had photos taken with Cinderella Castle looking like it&#8217;s completely covered in ice and snow, like something from Frozen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15945\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15945\" style=\"width: 588px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15945\" title=\"Ice Castle\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Ice-Castle-588x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"588\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Ice-Castle-588x550.jpg 588w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Ice-Castle-150x140.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Ice-Castle.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15945\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ice Castle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We visited each deluxe resort to check out the gorgeous holiday decorations, and we were not disappointed. For those of you who have not been to &#8216;Ohana at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/walt-disney-world\/resorts\/polynesian-village-resort\/\">Disney&#8217;s Polynesian Village,<\/a> it&#8217;s one of my favorite character breakfasts. I just wanted to share with you that you CAN discover and enjoy the holiday magic of Walt Disney World even without the parks! We spend 4 days over Thanksgiving weekend meeting our favorite characters, eating great food, seeing all of the wonderful decorations at each resort and the best part was, we actually had a little down time to enjoy the pool!
