Skipper Canteen ~ A Delicious Dining Choice at Magic Kingdom!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dining experiences are one of the most fun parts of a Disney vacation, and an important part!\u00a0 Disney is always changing things and adding new attractions and dining venues, and while we don&#8217;t always like change&#8230; you have to admit the changes are one reason we keep going back to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/walt-disney-world\/\">Walt Disney World<\/a> again and again!\u00a0 Jungle Navigation Co. LTD. Skipper Canteen opened in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/walt-disney-world\/magic-kingdom-park\/\">Magic Kingdom<\/a> almost 3 years ago (December 2015), but 3 years is not that long ago, I still consider it a new dining choice.<\/p>\n<p>It was around lunch time and I was hungry, (imagine the horror that I had not planned where to eat ahead of time)!\u00a0 I do like to wing it sometimes, and this particular day I was glad I did!\u00a0 \u00a0I was in Adventure Land and walked up to Skipper Canteen, they sat me within 5 minutes.\u00a0 When I walked into the restaurant I already knew it was a good choice.\u00a0 The design and decor left no room for boredom, I wasn&#8217;t sure where to look first.<\/p>\n<p>The detail has been carried out to perfection, as Disney does so well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16536\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16536\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16536\" title=\"Skipper Canteen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-4-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Skipper Canteen\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-4.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-4-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16536\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Skipper Canteen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In true Disney fashion, the menu is themed to match the decor.\u00a0 \u00a0To start you will find items such as &#8220;Jungle Green Salad&#8221;, &#8220;Ginger&#8217;s &#8220;Croc&#8221; of Hot-and-Sour Soup&#8221; and &#8220;Falls Family Falafel&#8221;.\u00a0 Entree selections include &#8220;Perkins Thai Noodles&#8221; , &#8220;Sankuru Sadie&#8217;s Seafood Stew&#8221;, &#8220;Dr. Falls Signature Grilled Steak&#8221;, to name a few.\u00a0 You can find the complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/walt-disney-world\/dining\/menus\/jungle-skipper-canteen-menu\/\">Skipper Canteen menu<\/a> on The Mouse For Less.<\/p>\n<p>I ordered the Shiriki Noodle Salad, which was enough food for me for lunch, and at $11.00 was quite reasonable, and delicious!\u00a0 Since the table service restaurants at Magic Kingdom now also offer wine and beer I couldn&#8217;t pass up the chance to have my first ever alcoholic beverage at Magic Kingdom.\u00a0 I did limit myself to one because this is a family Park after all!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16537\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16537\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16537\" title=\"Skipper Canteen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-2-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Skipper Canteen\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-2-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16537\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shiriki Noodle Salad and a Stella!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16542\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16542\" style=\"width: 369px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16542\" title=\"Skipper Canteen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-1-369x550.jpg\" alt=\"Skipper Canteen\" width=\"369\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-1-369x550.jpg 369w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-1-101x150.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-1.jpg 403w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16542\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beer and Wine Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Take time to walk around and check out the detail, read some of the titles of the books too.\u00a0 \u00a0(I&#8217;m not going to give it away, you will have to go see for yourself).\u00a0\u00a0You will not be sorry you took the time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16538\" title=\"Skipper Canteen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-3-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Skipper Canteen\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-3-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Overall it was a great dining experience, delicious lunch, and great service!\u00a0 The servers have the personality of your tour guide on Jungle Cruise (a little more toned down, but fun!)!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16535\" title=\"Skipper Canteen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper.jpg\" alt=\"Skipper Canteen\" width=\"583\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper.jpg 583w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/blog-skipper-150x110.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 583px) 100vw, 583px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next time you are at Magic Kingdom, put Jungle Navigation Co.
