{"id":17136,"date":"2019-07-08T10:32:12","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T14:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/?p=17136"},"modified":"2025-02-15T21:28:37","modified_gmt":"2025-02-16T02:28:37","slug":"home-sweet-home-on-a-disney-cruise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/home-sweet-home-on-a-disney-cruise\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Sweet Home on a Disney cruise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So you are all excited about your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/disney-cruise-line\/\">Disney cruise<\/a>.\u00a0 You know which dining you have, you have filled out your on-line check in and know your port arrival time&#8211;got your passport ready and almost finished packing.\u00a0 But there is one aspect of your cruise that you are a little nervous about&#8211;what will your cabin be like?\u00a0 Are you going to feel like you&#8217;re living in a small closet for a week?\u00a0 Will there be enough storage?\u00a0 Will your cabin feel like Home Sweet Home?\u00a0 Well, I can&#8217;t guarantee anything but I can tell you about my Disney cabin&#8211;it was awesome!<\/p>\n<p>First, I booked an inside cabin for my Disney cruise.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the least expensive option and also has a nice surprise if sailing on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/disney-vacations\/disney-cruise-line\/ships\/dream-fantasy-staterooms\/\">Dream or Fantasy<\/a> (I was sailing on the Fantasy)&#8211;a Magical Porthole!\u00a0 This is amazing technology.\u00a0 You have a porthole in your cabin but instead of seeing <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17261\" title=\"Magical Porthole\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Magical-Porthole-1-e1560620439235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"447\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Magical-Porthole-1-e1560620439235.jpg 447w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Magical-Porthole-1-e1560620439235-150x138.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 447px) 100vw, 447px\" \/>directly outside (like you would with an ocean view), you see the outside thru a camera located on another area of the ship.\u00a0 In addition to being able to see outside during the day, there is also a light that comes from the porthole especially at night that can be turned on or off so your cabin isn&#8217;t pitch black unless you want it to be.\u00a0 The best part is that periodically special Disney characters will &#8220;swim&#8221; by and wave at you&#8211;very cool!\u00a0 Definitely makes you feel more &#8220;at home&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Second, there is lots of storage in your Disney cabin.\u00a0 There is a whole wall of closets. Disney even has storage inside of a trunk that doubles as a table.\u00a0 The beds are lifted so lots of items<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17257\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17257\" style=\"width: 291px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17257\" title=\"DCL chest\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DCL-chest-e1560620824103.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"291\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DCL-chest-e1560620824103.jpg 291w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DCL-chest-e1560620824103-146x150.jpg 146w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 291px) 100vw, 291px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17257\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Storage chest\/table<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>can be stored under the bed. We always put our luggage under the bed to keep it completely out of the way.\u00a0 Even the built in desk has multiple deep drawers for storage.\u00a0 There are also two tiered built in end tables on either side of the <span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">bed<\/span> and additional shelves within the closet.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17262\" title=\"closet shelves\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/closet-shelves-e1560621459350.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"442\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/closet-shelves-e1560621459350.jpg 449w, https:\/\/www.themagicforless.com\/tmflblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/closet-shelves-e1560621459350-150x148.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 449px) 100vw, 449px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Third, you even have your own small fridge. What says &#8220;home&#8221; more than being able to pull a drink out of your own fridge!<\/p>\n<p>I hope you can see that being in a Disney cabin is very much Home Sweet Home.
