Disney Genie fans know already know and love him from the 1992 animated film, Aladdin.\u00a0 There is another Disney Genie that can help you plan your Walt Disney World vacation too!\u00a0 Walt Disney World<\/a> has a planning app and tools named Disney Genie.\u00a0 Are you wondering who or what that is?\u00a0 Keep reading for everything you need to know about Disney Genie!<\/p>\n

What is Disney Genie?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Disney Genie is complimentary service found in your\u00a0 My Disney Experience app that lets you create personalized itineraries inspired by the things you tell Disney you love!\u00a0 It helps you make the most of your park time and includes some tips and information too.\u00a0 Disney Genie will also continue to update your itinerary as the day changes, allowing you to remain spontaneous or have a more structured day.<\/p>\n

There are a few other important things to know about Disney Genie.\u00a0 While this service is based in the app and is complimentary, there are also two paid options available that can enhance your visit to the theme parks.\u00a0 You can choose to purchase one, both, or neither!\u00a0 Ultimately, both of these options will put you in the fast lane to experience your favorite attractions!<\/p>\n

What is a Lightning Lane?<\/h2>\n

\"Disney<\/p>\n

A Lightning Lane allows guests to bypass the standby queue and enter a separate queue to experience select attractions and experiences in the parks.\u00a0 This means that you will have access to a queue that, most often, has a much shorter wait time.\u00a0 This allows you to spend less time waiting in line and more time experiencing the fun.\u00a0 \u00a0Have you ever muttered the words, “I’d pay to not wait in this line!” while on vacation?\u00a0 Well this is exactly what you can now do.<\/p>\n

Two Options to access Lightning Lane – Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The two paid-for options for Disney Genie are Genie+\u00a0 and ‘Individual Lightning Lane Selections’.<\/p>\n

When you purchase Disney Genie+, you have access to the Lightning Lane at a number of attractions in each park.\u00a0 You can see the complete list below.\u00a0 When you purchase an Individual Lightning Lane, those are for access to the Lightning Lane at specific attractions not included with your Genie+ purchase.<\/p>\n

Remember, also always have the option to use the standby queue (or virtual queue if offered).\u00a0 If you don’t want to purchase Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane Selections, no problem – get in the standby queue!\u00a0 You can also use the standby queue if you want to experience an attraction more than once.\u00a0 For instance, if you purchase an Individual Lightning Lane Selection to experience Rise of the Resistance but just have\u00a0 to experience this attraction again – you can get in the standby queue!<\/p>\n

Disney Genie+
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Purchase Genie+ to use the Lightning Lane at a number of attractions and experiences in each park. Genie+ can be purchased each day that you want to use it through your My Disney Experience account.\u00a0 <\/span>You can begin the purchase of Disney Genie+ at midnight each day.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b> The cost of Genie+ fluctuates and you will check the My Disney Experience app for pricing each day.\u00a0 You can choose to buy Genie+ for a single park, or, if your part ticket includes park hopping, you can choose to purchase it for multiple parks. Expect to pay around $15 – $35 per day.<\/p>\n

One you have purchased Disney Genie+ service, you can begin to book reservations for your first experience via the My Disney Experience app beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit. Once you\u2019ve ridden your initial selection, or the arrival window has passed, you can make another selection using the app. What if you book a reservation and it\u2019s hours away? Well, you can book another reservation 120 minutes from the time of that booking. In addition, the app will let you know when you can book another reservation so you don’t have to keep track.<\/p>\n

Individual Lightning Lane
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you want to purchase Individual Lightning Lane Selections, you will do that on an individual basis during your trip.\u00a0 Prices will vary per attraction, per day.\u00a0 Guests of a Disney Resort Hotel<\/a> and Other Select Hotels will be able to make their first purchase starting at 7:00 AM on the day of their visit. This option is available to Disney Resort hotel Guests and Guests of Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels and Shades of Green. If you aren\u2019t staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can make your first purchase when the park officially opens. This is just one more reason to consider staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n
