All About the 2024 Disney Dining Plan

Sharing is caring!

Have you heard the news? The Disney Dining Plan is returning to Walt Disney World in 2024! Here is all you need to know about the 2024 Disney Dining Plan!

Dining Plan Options

There are two dining plan options you can choose from for your 2024 Walt Disney World vacation. You can choose from the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. So, what’s the difference? The short answer is the inclusions are different! If you want the long answer, here it is:

  • The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan provides each guest (ages 3 and older) with two Quick-Service meals and one snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of stay and one resort-refillable mug valid for your length of stay.
  • The Disney Dining Plan provides each guest (ages 3 and older) with one Quick-Service meal, one Table-Service meal and one snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of stay and one resort-refillable mug valid for your length of stay.
The purple symbols next to the menu items here indicate that those items are eligible to purchase with a dining plan snack credit!

But… what does that mean?

If you’ve read about the dining plan then you’ve probably heard these terms before, but what do they mean?

  • A Quick-Service meal is a meal where you will order your food at a counter (or in the My Disney Experience app – not sure how to do that? Read all about it here!) and take it to your table with you. You can find a full list of quick-service restaurants here.
  • A Table-Service meal is a meal where you will be seated at a table and waited on by waitstaff. These might be buffets, family-style or a la carte restaurants. You can find a full list of table-service restaurants here.
  • A snack/nonalcoholic drink credit is the hardest one to nail down to an exact definition. You will find snack/drink options at nearly every restaurant and snack stand around Walt Disney World. This also includes the food booths at Epcot! Examples of these items would be a churro, a Mickey pretzel or an ice cream sandwich but there are hundreds of snack items across the resort. The items that can be purchased using a snack credit will be clearly marked on the menus at each location.
  • Resort-refillable mugs are plastic drink mugs that you can use for the length of your stay. With these mugs, you can get unlimited free refills of soft drinks, coffee, tea and hot chocolate at any Disney-owned resort. You can read all of the details about these mugs here. One very important distinction to remember is that these mugs can only be refilled at the resorts – they cannot be refilled in the theme parks.

Sounds great! But how much does it cost?

I know you’re probably wondering about the big question – how much does it cost? I will tell you! But I just want to mention that these prices are correct as of the date of publish of this blog. So if you’re reading this in 10 years, this pricing is no longer correct – I’m just warning you now!

  • The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan costs about $57 per adult and $24 per child (ages 3-9) per night of your vacation package
  • The Disney Dining Plan costs about $94 per adult and $30 per child (ages 3-9) per night of your vacation package
Geyser Point is a great place to use a quick service credit!

Is the dining plan available to everyone?

The dining plans at Walt Disney World can be added to any vacation package with a check-in date of January 9, 2024 or later. Your vacation package must include a resort stay and park admission to be eligile to add a Disney dining plan. The only exception to this requirement is for Annual Passholders or military members who are purchasing admission from your military installment or Shades of Green. Annual Passholders and military members may add the dining plan to their vacation package without park admission included in their package.

Pro-tip: use those snack credits for a quick breakfast!

Is it worth it?

Ahh – the million-dollar question! Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it? The answer to that question is different for every family depending on your eating habits, your dining choices and your food preferences… but don’t worry! Your trusted travel advisor can help you run the numbers to see if the Disney Dining Plan is the best choice for your specific vacation!
