Food & Wine Festival 2013 Special Events

Part of the Food & Wine Festival that everyone looks forward to doing is the special events that happen during the 6 week festival.  The dates for the festival are September 27-November 11, 2013.  These are very popular and some do book up quickly.  Some of the events include book signings and meet and greet sessions with authors and chefs as well as bottle signings with the winemaker.   Also included with your Epcot admission is The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar and taste seminars, both found in the Festival Welcome Center.

For a small fee of $14 you can attend culinary demonstrations  and wine/beverage seminars where you even get a taste of the creation!  Mixology seminars are $15.  These are daily in the Festival Welcome Center.

New this year is Scotland, Land of Food & Drink.   You will enjoy traditional Scottish favorites while enjoying lively entertainment.   The cost for this is $95 plus tax, or $115 plus tax for reserved seating.  This is held September 28.

Also new this year is Spirits Confidential where you’ll hear tales from Master Distillers and Mixologists.  This is held November 1 and is $80 plus tax, or $95 plus tax for reserved seating.

Returning is a favorite for sweet lovers-the 3D Disney’s Dessert Discovery.  This is held on select Friday evenings October 4, 11 and 25 and includes VIP viewing of Illuminations.  You will enjoy desserts and cordials for $55 plus tax, or you can upgrade to Sweet Seats for a reserved table and other amenities for $90 plus tax.

Another sweet experience is Sweet Sundays which is held each week and includes a breakfast buffet, sparkling wines and signature desserts.  The chef will demonstrate how to make each of the three desserts.  This is $99 per person.

If you don’t experience that you also have a chance to do The Discovery of Chocolate on select Sunday afternoons which includes samples along with spirited beverages and/or paired wines.  This is held September 29, October 13 and October 27 and is $75 plus tax.

On select Sundays you can attend Epcot Wine Schools where you’ll learn about regional wines and how to taste them.  This is held September 29, October 27 and November 3 for $135 plus tax.

Kitchen Memories is a three-course lunch where you will learn how to prepare an appetizer, main course and lunch.  Wine pairings for each course are included.   This is held on Fridays and the prices are $110 or $170 plus tax.

If you like cheese, you’ll love the cheese seminars held on Saturdays.  You’ll learn about cheese from Fromagers and they’ll also be paired with wine or beer.  This is $80 plus tax. 

Several of the countries will have special events as well.  These are held on select days during the festival.  Event prices below do not include tax.

The Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining is a special event held in several of the signature restaurants that include a memorable meal with wine pairings.  The prices for this range from $90 to $545, all plus tax, and are on select dates.

One of the most sought after events is the Party for the Senses.  This begins with reserved seating at the Eat to the Beat concert series then continues to the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion where you will wander through more than 50 tasting stations while being entertained by Cirque du Soleil.  Admission is $145 or you can get reserved seating for $180 or the Wine View Lounge for $285, all plus tax.  This is held October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2.

There is something there for everyone as you can see.  Some of these do book up quickly and have limited availability.  These will go on sale to the general public at 7am (ET) August 13, but pre-sales will be available for Tables in Wonderland, Annual Passholders, DVC members and Golden Oak residents on August 9.   For reservations call 1-800-WDW-FEST (939-3378).
