If you enjoy a resort room that is beautiful and includes a little Disney magic, you can consider the new Little Mermaid rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.  These rooms were recently refurbished and have subtle decor and theme inspired by The Little Mermaid.

Nestled within Walt Disney World, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a unique blend of tropical relaxation and magical fun. This Disney resort in the moderate category is  located in the Epcot Resort area.  The Calypso music and Caribbean vibe create an immersive experience that extends from the lobby to the guest rooms. Kick off your shoes and take time to relax away from the parks while you enjoy this resort’s sandy beaches and swaying hammocks.  Guest rooms are located in one of five island areas of the resort: Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, and Trinidad.

Most rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach feature a tropical theme, but a number of  rooms in the Trinidad section of the resort were  renovated and now feature a Little Mermaid inspired theme.  We had a chance to check them out and here are a few of the things we loved about these new rooms.

Theme

These Little Mermaid themed rooms are creative but also sophisticated. The soft colors are contemporary and the room feels very relaxing. You will find Sebastian, Flounder and other under the sea friends throughout the room.  Don’t worry though, the theme is subtle and doesn’t overwhelm the space.  We think that these are rooms that will be enjoyed by guests of all ages!

Little Mermaid Rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Accommodate Five Guests

It can be hard to find hotel rooms that accommodate more than four guests. The Little Mermaid rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach accommodate up to five guests. There is a queen bed, a queen pull down bed, and also a child-sized pull down bed.  One of the great things about the pull down beds is that they can fold up during the day and don’t take up space in the room.  It makes the room feel more spacious and you also have a couch to sit on when the bed is not in use.

Storage

Lots of Storage

Sometimes when a resort has a pull down bed, you lose storage options.  This is not true in these rooms. There is a large dresser with drawers and additional drawers under the pull down bed.  Shelves are located near the coffee area as well as ledge above the child-size pull down bed. In addition, there is a closet and plenty of additional storage in the bathroom area.  There is even a drawer under the sink and a pull-out stool to help younger guests reach the sink with ease. We found more than enough places to store everything.

Extra plugs and USB ports

USB and Plugs!

Are there ever enough outlets and USB in a room? When Disney refurbishes a room they add many more to help us charge all of our devices.  You will find USB and outlets on each side of the main bed, above the single pull-down and on the dresser.

Coffee Area

Coffee Station

Coffee is a necessity for many in the morning and you will find a coffee station located in the room.  The coffee station includes a Cuisinart pod-style coffee maker with Joffrey’s coffee, tea, and creamer and sugar too.  We always appreciate having a centralized area for coffee in a hotel room.  This is located at the end of the dresser and even has an  under the sea themed background.

Functional Bathroom Space

Separate Toilet & Shower Area in Bathroom

Walt Disney World resorts do a great job making  bathroom areas that are functional and practical.  There are often a number of people getting ready at the same time and so the bathroom areas are divided into separate spaces.   There is a sliding door that  separates the vanity area from the rest of the room. This makes changing and getting ready for the day much easier. The toilet and vanity area are also separate. The bathroom features double sinks and loads of storage too.

Location & Transportation

Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney’s Caribbean Beach is centrally located and travel to the theme parks is available by bus.  In addition, it is one of the few resorts that also has access to the Skyliner!  The Skyliner is a gondola transportation system in Walt Disney World that transports guests of this resort to Epcot as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The Skyliner system also connects to Disney’s Pop Century and Disney Art of Animation resort. In addition to being efficient transportation, it is also fun transportation and a great way to get around.
