Star Wars, having been around since the late 70s, is definitely old enough for an adult beverage or two. Life can’t always be about lightsabers and droids for the guys, gals, and other species that make their way to Batuu. Specifically to Oga’s Cantina at Black Spire Outpost. Or as us earthlings like to say, at Galaxy’s Edge inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Oga’s is where you will the party of all parties. “Step inside this notorious local watering hole to partake of unique libations for all ages.” Here you will find drinks and food for people of all ages. They have concoctions and provisions with alcohol for the older crowd. As well as concoctions and provisions for the younger crowd. You can also get drinks with a take-home cup and memories to last a lifetime.

Who is Oga?

So let’s dive in and learn more about Oga’s Cantina. And let’s start with the proprietor herself.

According to StarWars.com, Oga Garra is a very interesting character. “The elusive local crime boss of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, few have seen Oga in the flesh and have lived to tell the tale. She has earned an infamous, almost mythical reputation among smugglers, criminals, and prominent figures of the underworld. Even the mere mention of her name sets the locals on edge. Many local Batuuans wonder whether she’ll finally make an appearance now that the First Order has arrived on Black Spire Outpost, but she remains hidden, preferring to run her cantina and the outpost in the shadows.”

Cantina Information

The cantina’s hours do vary, as the establishment opens and closes with the same hours as the park. Reservations are highly recommended as space is limited. Plus, this experience takes place in an enclosed space with low lighting levels and high activity and is normally limited to 45 minutes per party. Also, Oga’s has mainly standing room and bar seating, with limited table seats available.

Guests can make an advanced reservation on the Disney website or with the My Disney Experience App. Couldn’t find a reservation online? Head to the cantina entrance to inquire about getting a table or standing space.

Already have a reservation? Check-in 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time with a Cast Member. But remember, each person in your party must be with you to enter the cantina at your reservation time.

You can find the entrance to the cantina located on the north side of Galaxy’s Edge near the Millenium Falcon. Like a full-scale Millenium Falcon. That is another story for another blog!

Food and Drinks

The drinks at Oga’s are what you seek. The food offerings are minimal but unique, so don’t overlook those. For a full menu, including a break down of offerings throughout the day, check out TheMouseForLess.com.Cocktails at Oga's

One of the cool options includes ordering drinks with a take your glass home option. This includes two alcoholic offerings, plus a non-alcoholic option. For those that enjoy beer, the Rancor Tooth Beer Flight Board retails for $85.00. You get four beer samplers and at the end of your visit, they give you a brand new flight board and cups.  The Yub Nub Battle of Endor Tiki mug is another option for adults, while the Cliff Dweller Porg mug is a great option for non-drinkers and the younger crowd.

My favorite drinks at the cantina are both tequila-based drinks. The Dagobah Slug Slinger, which is Herradura Reposado Tequila, Bols Blue Curaçao, Citrus Juices, Ginger, Herbs, and Bitters, and the Outer Rim which contains Patrón Silver Tequila, Cedilla Açaí Liqueur, Lime Juice, Pure Cane Sugar, with Black Salt and Exotic Fruit Purée. Not a tequila fan, not to worry! There are great offerings for all tastes and expect to spend around $15 to $18 for a cocktail and $13.25 to 14.25 for a beer.

For food, and food type provisions, Oga’s has limited options. The provisions, as they are called, are sweet-tasting jello treats with popping pearls on the inside and Pop Rocks on the outside. They won’t fill you up, but they are fun to try.

There are also two more substantial options, Batuu Bites, which are Crispy Galaxy Snack Bits with Spiced Chermoula Dip, and the Happabore Sampler, which is a tasty tray of Cured and Roasted Meats, Cheese, and Pork Cracklings.

Drink and food options are subject to change, so check out the official Oga’s webpage on the Walt Disney World website for the up to date offerings.

Atmosphere

DJ R3X

The theming of Oga’s Cantina is spot on. The colors, lights, look, and feel of the experience is top-notch and really makes you feel like you are walking onto a Star Wars set. Or a bar located in the outer reaches of the Universe. So if anyone is a Star Wars fan and loves the Mos Eisley cantina scene in New Hope, this is a much safer and modern version!

DJ R3X is an animatronic droid that plays the latest and greatest hits that Batuu has to offer. It is definitely worth taking a few minutes just to watch R3X play some tunes and provide a fun atmosphere.

The actual bar area looks like nothing I’ve ever seen. The extremely industrial look and feel immerse you in the moment and really makes the entire experience. Even the taps for beers and cocktails are overly themed and blend in with their surroundings.

For the most up-to-date hours of operation, check with your travel agent or the Oga’s webpage.
